What is an Affiliate Link?

An affiliate link is a special type of link that’s designed to track sales that were sent from your site. To serve its function and connect sales to corresponding affiliates, each affiliate link is unique and contains the affiliate’s ID.

The difference between basic and dynamic affiliate link

Affiliate links can be either basic or dynamic. A basic affiliate link is a static URL that never changes. It has the necessary information, such as the product URL, commission percentage, and maybe a coupon code. A dynamic affiliate link, on the other hand, is a URL that is designed to change and be updated every time the page is loaded. Dynamic affiliate links are used to provide users with personalized data such as their name and address, item price and quantity, available shipping options, etc.

If you are an affiliate signed up for a particular affiliate program and you use the program’s dashboard, everything is super easy. You don’t need to create an affiliate link yourself. Instead, you just grab a unique affiliate link designed for you from the dashboard.

I am an advertiser/ network owner. How do I create affiliate links for my affiliates?

First of all, you will need an affiliate management tool where you can manage affiliates, offers, and links. Once you have this tool, it will do all the work for you. Once you add new affiliates to the program, a link is automatically generated; your affiliates will usually find it in the Offer section or similar.
